THE MARKS OF CALVARY

Greetings in Jesus name, is a blessing and an honor to bring to you God's words. We are in a time where we should increase our knowledge of God and follow his lead at all times.  So today we will see the topic of the marks of Calvary before we move on. Let's see what Calvary means, as you know Calvary is the hillside outside Jerusalem where Jesus was crucified. so, let's look at and the marks of the crucifixion that we should learn from in how walk with God, the life of Jesus Christ should be the focus of every child of God but sadly people are more focus in their church and denominations some have even taken their pastor or minister as there focus not Jesus. So, let's look at the bible. HUMILITY: (Luke 23:33) When they came to the place called The Skull, there they crucified Him and the criminals, one on the right and the other on the left. so, Jesus was crucified among criminals this was a test of his humility he was not a criminal but was tagged and crucified among them, so you can see one of the marks of calvary is humility even in the midst of persecution. Many of us followers of Jesus can't even stand to be talked at without talking back we are not even humble enough to take corrections without getting angry.   BEAR THE CROSS: ( John 19:17) They took Jesus, therefore, and He went out, bearing His own cross, to the place called the Place of a Skull, which is called in Hebrew, Golgotha. The mark of calvary shows to followers of Jesus that we must bear the cross on our own, many of us don't want this, because the false religious leaders has made it look like being a follower Christ is a smooth ride this is a lie, it has never been a smooth ride for there are pains to carry trouble, sleepless night tears and sometimes physical bodily harms persecution even death if you are not ready for this you will miss the mark. LOVE: (Luke 33:34) Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing" as you can read from the verse one of the marks of calvary is to love, this is the hardest part of our walk with Jesus many people can't forgive not to talk about love. Jesus was praying out of deep love for the people they saw him as an enemy but  he saw them as friends, the church the followers of Jesus don't know how to love in-fact love is missing in the lives of so many, they forget that love is actually a spiritual thing it leads one to having Gods presence  this bring us to a question why should any child of God pray for the death of his enemy why Jesus never did? Read Revelation 1:4-5 PEACE: (Colossians 1:20) We have peace through his blood on the cross of calvary. One of the marks of calvary is actually to have peace, Jesus already paid the prize for it. so, you will ask yourself why I am not peaceful? why can't I see peace in the lives of people who say they identify with Jesus most especially church folks.? The answer is simple they don't truly identify with Jesus the spirit of God is missing in their lives, when you the bear the marks of calvary in your body it brings about the fruits of the spirit it makes you to understand the reason why you are here or why you are a follower of Jesus this things don't come by attending church it comes by truly and genuinely be renewed from the inside giving your heart to God completely. GOOD WORKS: (Philippians 1:6) And I am certain that God who began the good works within you will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Jesus Christ returns.  From this verse you can see one of the marks of calvary is to do good works just like Jesus did read Acts 10:38 even at the point of death Jesus was still doing good so you ask yourself do you have the marks of calvary?are doing good works through the spirit of God in you or you are just a church goer just gathering but not true with yourself not talk about being true to God. Just like the evidence of the life of Jesus was seen by all, that same evidence should be seen by all in you, stop everything that does not glorify the life of Christ in you it is the marks of calvary that sets apart from the crowd our lives should show that of Jesus we should imitate  his way of life and be a true followers of Jesus God bless you.
