THE DISTRACTION IN THE CHURCH
Greetings how are you doing ?trust God you are fine. Today we take a look at an essential topic as it concerns the happenings to come as we approach the end of time, and the title of this topic is the distraction in the church. As you are reading this now, i know you will be asking yourself how do the church distract me?, well if you are asking that question, you are going to get an answer.
The church has gone through many phases since it began over centuries ago but the church of the last days is seriously in a position where rather than to make people grow in the knowledge of God and how people will increase in their love for God it has become a huge distraction so i will least some points out to help us understand better the kinds of distractions in the church today.
The DISTRACTION OF PREFERENCE:You know the church is a palace of gathering of believers based on their love for God, this has been destroyed and why is it so?it is so because people now has a mindset of what they prefer to see in the church including people they want to meet or are friends with also they want to hear some kind of summonses that pleases them and not what God wants them to hear, i have heard of some churches where the pastor can not preach what he wants to preach because it will hurt the elders , deacons and other leaders of the church this is not right and it is the work of the devil.
THE DISTRACTION OF BEING RIGHT: (2 Timothy 2:23) Again I say, don’t get involved in foolish, ignorant arguments that only start fights.you see many in the church because of familiarity often feel maybe they are better than you or they know more than you, this breeds badblood in the church which could eventually leads to arguments which are often at times foolish there was ones in my church where the women always get into arguments and through this many left.
The church distraction of being right is not good in the church we often forget that the church is not operating under the influence of the god of this world but under the almighty God.The church shouldnt have things that are done in the world.
THE DISTRACTION OF PERSONALITY:For it has been reported to me by Chloe’s people that there is quarreling among you, my brothers. What I mean is that each one of you says, ‘I follow Paul,’ or ‘I follow Apollos,’ or ‘I follow Cephas,’ or ‘I follow Christ.’ Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?…” (1 Corinthians 1:11-13)
Pastor, it is our job to ensure that people in our congregation don’t love us more than they love their Savior. That they don’t identify with us or our church more than they identify with Jesus. This can be especially difficult for pastors with big personalities.
In the same way, as church leaders we have to protect ourselves against becoming more enamored by the other leaders we respect than by our Lord.
A lot of ministries are built around personalities. If managed well, this can actually be effective for ministry. However, if managed poorly, that engaging personality can become an hindrance and a distraction to effective ministry and to the general well being of the church. Sometimes the different personalities inside the church also often have a different view that will spread down to those who love them. This can cause a great division and make things go bad.
THE DISTRACTION OF GOSSIP: (Proverbs 19:20) He who goes about as a slanderer reveals secrets therefore do not associate with gossip.
This is one the most destructive distraction in the church, and over the years it has become so prevalent inside the church, the spirit of gossiping destroy peoples images it makes other people to hate them and ones this happens their will be a great division among people who are suppose to love themselves, you see when someone gossips about a person to other people it reflects by their attitude towards the person it is a destructive thing that becomes so infectious in the church it drives aways people who genuinely wanting to serve God from doing so.
THE DISTRACTION OF DISUNITY:(1 Corinthians 1:10)
Now I exhort you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all agree and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be made complete in the same mind and in the same judgment.
The fact remains that the church is no longer what it use to be, this boils down to our foundational set up, so many people in the church don't have the spirit of God but have the spirit of rebellion, going to church makes no difference having the spirit of God does make the difference, not having the spirit of God in you, will make you have a misunderstanding leading to the distraction of disunity.
Disunity brings about a division; anything that is divided can not stand. At this point in time we are in the Last days do not allow the distractions in the church to make you lose focus if you don't know , know now the church is not what it used to be satan has his hold on so many churches in fact some churches are far worse then what is obtainable outside the church.
(1 Peter 5:8) Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.God bless you,.,
